Raymond Lai

Ray Lai joined David Fingold’s team at Dynamic in 2021 as a Portfolio Manager. Ray has more than 20+ years of extensive industry experience.

Prior to joining Dynamic, Ray spent six years at a well-known Canadian Institutional Asset Management Firm, where he co-managed a U.S. small and mid-cap equity fund. As well as co-managing the fund, Ray was responsible for building out the research and position-sizing framework for the U.S. platform. His particular focus for the Fund was on companies in the Technology, Consumer Products/Services, Financials, Industrial Products, and Telecommunications sectors.

Before that, Ray was a Senior Analyst, Canadian equities, at another well-known Canadian Institutional Asset Manager. He was one half of a two-person team responsible for managing a $5 billion portfolio.

Early on in his career, Ray was a Research Analyst, Consumer Products, at a major independent Canadian brokerage firm. During his six-and-a-half years there, he was a highly ranked analyst for several years in both Brendan Wood International and Buy Side Surveys from Canadian Institutional Investors.

Prior to that, Ray was a Special Situations Research Associate for the aforementioned brokerage firm.

He earned his BCom, Finance from the University of British Columbia. He received his CFA designation in 2000.
